Conventional ESP vs. The Integrated Gas Processor (IGP)

January 4, 2024

Extract's IGP outperformed a traditional ESP

Extract's IGP outperformed a traditional ESP with gas handling pump and gas separators in a low volume, high GLR Permian application results in increased production and operating cash flow.

THE PROBLEM:

A Delaware Basin operator’s well in the Bone Spring formation in New Mexico had several ESP failures over the past year, resulting in a significant amount of gas-related shutdowns.

After installing an ESP with an IGP downtime was reduced by 32%, the average production increased by 50% to 600bpd.

Because of infrastructure constraints and the cost of changing, gas lift was not a desirable option. So, the operator was looking for a solution to produce the well with an ESP successfully.

THE PROCESS:

After installing an ESP with an IGP downtime was reduced by32%, the average production increased by 50% to 600bpd, capturing $450k in additional oil production per month, and was able to draw the well down an additional 20%.

Conclusion

The IGP demonstrated that it can outperform the standard gas handling equipment used currently in unconventional wells with low volume, and high GLRs. The IGP’s ability to handle high amounts of gas and remain running significantly impacted this well’s operational efficiency, positively impacting the cash flow of this operator’s well.
